What is SSB Interview?
SSB which means Service Selection Board. It is an organization that assesses the candidates to become officers in the INDIAN ARMED FORCES. The board evaluates the suitability of the candidates for becoming an officer using standardized protocols of personality, intelligence, and interviews.SSB is 5 days long Interview implemented by UPSC, once The candidate Qualifies for the Written NDA/CDS exam. The Interview includes two parts –
- Intelligence and Personality test and a group discussion.
- Medical and Fitness Test.

Why is SSB Interview taken?
SSB interview is taken to assess the candidate’s suitability for getting inducted into the armed forces. This test helps SSB to select the candidates who have Officer Like Qualities (OLQ). And please note that the Service Selection Board is not concerned about the number of commissions enrolled.
How SSB approches candidate for Interview.
Here is the List of the procedure by which SSB sends call-up letters to the Candidates who qualify for the written NDA/CDA exam-
- SSB sends a call-up letter to the candidates through E-MAIL.
- Candidates are given a scheduled date prior to the interview before which they have to appear at the Centre.
- Candidates must Carry all the necessary documents including a call-up letter, 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, and other documents as mentioned in the Mail.
- Once all of your documents are verified, you will get your chest number which remains with you till your interview is not over.
- And during your interview, you will be facing multiple tests and interviews like Screening, Psychological tests, interviews, etc.
- Once you clear all the tests including the personal interview, you will be appearing for the Medical and Fitness Test.
Note: Unfortunately if any candidate fails to fulfill any of the requirements mentioned above, they are disqualified.

How to answer rapid-fire questions in SSB
- Now that you know all the questions, think about the answer and answer them in the same chronological order.
- Answer the questions in a very confined way.
- Make sure to answer the question honestly and correctly.
- While answering the question – DO not be in a hurry, take gaps and pauses, and think before speaking.
- It is very normal if you miss a question try to answer more confidently and asked the interviewer whether you have missed any of the questions or not.
Why are rapid-fire questions asked in SSB?
